Greenhorn South Plantation Thinning

printerPrintable Version

The Kern River Ranger District proposes to treat approximately 1,273 acres of plantations that are currently overstocked, losing vigor, and at increased risk of loss due to wildfire. Treatments consist of thinning, pruning, piling and burning, chipping and/or yarding. These activities are designed to maintain plantation health, reduce risk of adverse effects from insect and disease, and minimize or reduce the potential for stand-replacing wildfires.
